Forget the law! Is what I am doing wrong?

While I see your point, and empathize with you and your position about the expenses of the op system, it is wrong morally and ethically to distribute illegal softwares. There are literally thousands of people working together just to develop an op system, let alone get it beta tested and then bringing it to the market for the mes. And, each system spawned from the same copy of the disk will generate the same numbers for a given hardware setup, so somewhere down the line, a future owner may find his(and yours) won't activate or validate, leading to the loss of privilidges any normal owner should expect to enjoy. Just because they haven't put a lawyer in front of a judge with you, don't be too certain that there aren't other measures Microsoft can take to stop your activities, like blocking your I.P. address, or even remotely accessing your machines with their own built-in accounts! According to the EULA, YOU DO NOT OWN THE SOFTWARE, YOU ARE JUST LICENSED TO USE IT. And they can make it malfunction if they wish...after all, it is their internet !
