Was the charge of the Light Horse Brigade in Ghaza, the single Greatest Military Victory of WWI?

In WWI The Australian Light Horse Regiment charged The Ghaza strip, out numbered & almost dying of thirst to secure wells & the strategic high ground against the Turks & Germans. It liberated Ghaza from 2000 years of Muslim Rule and pathed the way for other great Victories. Why is Ghaza such a strategic, yet Political hotspot? Why can't the Jews & Arabs just get along?
