Is this area in Washington, DC. safe?

We are visiting DC for three days and found an inexpensive hotel in the area. This is the Confort Inn FedEx Field/Largo in Capitol Heights, MD. I posted a question about the safety of this area, and got lots of negative responses. However, I check all the recent reviews for this hotel on hotels.com and tripadvisor.com. and are, for the most part, positive reviews from satisfied customers. What should I do? Do we stay here or not? We are just spending the nigth here and the whole day on DC, plus, the hotel offers a suttle service to and from the metro station as late as 9 pm.
