Are Ugg Boots really durable?

Well Ive seen people with Ugg boots on and some of them have rips and tears! And they are the real ones....I wanted to get a pair, but not if they rip and the fur comes out! I don't want to pay the money if they won't last more than 2 years. So, are they actually durable, or do the people just not treat them well?
